FAQs

  • Our class fee is $365 for students of all ages, applicable to various classes. However, some classes will have additional material fees.

For instance, the Sketching Class only requires pencils, so there is no additional material fee, and the total cost remains $365 per term for 10 classes (each class lasts one hour). However, if you enrol in the Acrylic Painting Class, there will be a $60 material fee, bringing the total to $425 ($365 + $60). The Sculpture Making Class, which includes Miniature Clay, Air Dry Clay, and plaster-related projects, will have a total fee of $435 ($365 + $70).

Class fees will be adjusted in the second half of 2025, so please keep an eye on our website for updates.

  • I accept both adults and children aged 5 and older in my classes.

I encourage all my students to create their own unique art, so I primarily focus on teaching techniques and allow them to explore and apply these techniques to develop their own projects.

For older students (ages 11 and up), I prefer to mix age groups so they can inspire each other and make friends. For younger students, I strongly recommend grouping them with peers of a similar age, as this helps them connect and socialize better.

  • I prefer to teach smaller classes to ensure quality and to meet each student’s individual needs. The maximum number of students I accept per class is 5, while the minimum is 2. For classes that have more than 5 students, we will have an art assistant to ensure the quality of teaching.

Our little studio is growing fast as we have received a lot of new students this term, so spots are filling up quickly. Please check the schedual for available classes.

However, for other available time slots that do not yet have scheduled classes, such as Wednesday or Thursday, or any other days like Tuesday, 5:00 - 6:00 pm time slot, we can schedule a new class as long as there are at least two students interested.

At the end of each term, students may choose to enrol in different classes for the next term, which could open up additional spots. However, we cannot guarantee these openings. The best course of action is for parents to inform me of their preferred day, and I will do my best to accommodate their requests.

  • Please note that the full class fee must be paid before starting a new term, and we do not offer refunds. If you have a trip planned before the term begins, we can recalculate your class fee based on your plans before your payment.

For students wishing to take time off during their studies, we recommend rescheduling your class to a different time, such as another session, a weekend, or during school holidays.

If rescheduling isn’t possible, we cannot provide a refund. However, we can discuss options to convert the unused class into a credit for the next term or as an additional class in the following term. Please note that this credit or extra class can only be rolled over for a maximum of one additional term.

  • Don’t get the idea of copying wrong—it's actually a valuable learning tool. Copying helps students understand techniques, shapes, and how to study an image closely. It’s a great way to build foundational skills. However, it's not sustainable to keep copying other people's work. No matter how well you replicate something, it’s still not your own.

I always encourage my students to take what they’ve learned—those techniques and insights—and apply them to their own ideas. Your work might not look as refined as the piece you admire right away, but by consistently observing your surroundings and turning those observations into your own visual language, you'll grow.

Keep creating your own work—that's the only way to develop a unique and authentic artistic voice.

  • Yes, we use both languages in class according to the needs of the students. We have some students who have just moved to New Zealand and understand very little English, so we try to communicate more in Chinese while also teaching them basic English and art terms.

    如果您的孩子不太會說英文的,可以提前讓我們知道,我們會特別用中文教導他們與他們溝通。
