Identity, Cultural Experiences and Storytelling: A Still Life in Surrealism and In-Betweenness
Rooted in my Taiwanese-Chinese heritage and New Zealand upbringing, my work integrates the classical tradition of still-life painting with surrealist elements. Through this fusion, I address themes of belonging, self-identity, and the complex experience of navigating multiple cultures. My art delves into the psychological depth of objects, exploring the emotional resonance of in-betweenness and the shifting nature of cultural perception.
